What a May...another performance this weekend!
I'm really excited to dust off one of my old favorites this weekend at the Red Light Lounge, with one of the most talented piano players I know. There will be other great artists as well so I hope you can make it!

Oh my, this was quite an evening. Not only were Dr. Angelou's words full of the wisdom and inspiration mentioned in the title of this event, but I was not expecting her to be quite so funny and animated! What a treat this evening was, and actually I venture to say historic. She reminded me of what it means to live life following your creative inspiration and the joy and fullness that can come of it. I want to write here what I will take away from this wonderful evening so I don't forget it: "Remember and honor those who were rainbows in your clouds so that you can remember to be a rainbow in others."
Now I've got plenty of books to read and keep me busy this summer. Let the inspiration continue!

"Ladies in White" Benefit Concert Sunday, May 10th 6pm-midnight (I go on at the beginning so come early!) Dakota Lounge 1026 Wilshire Blvd. Santa Monica, 90401 21+ Cost: $7
Arts First 2009 at Harvard and Kelley Nicole updates for May!
First, I must give a shout out to all of the organizers of Arts First 2009 at Harvard. Arts First was my favorite time of year on campus because everyone took the time to enjoy the beautiful late spring weather in Boston (the sun comes out, finally!) and celebrate music, dance, theater, visual art, and all other things creative at Harvard. It was magical.
Thanks to the Office for the Arts at Harvard for making me a featured artist in their Arts First guide. In honor of this annual festival I must encourage those in the Boston area to swing by Cambridge and check out all that is happening. A special plug for the Kuumba Singers annual spring concert taking place this Saturday night at Sanders Theater.
