For the Lauryn Hill historians...

I have to say, despite crazy rumors and a tumultuous career this woman is still one of the greatest musical inspirations of my life. Anytime people ask me what I'm going for I say think the genius and rawness of "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill." I loved what she was able to do with that record and it will forever remain on my top 10 list.

Kelley Nicole on the radio and at the Vegan Village tonight!

Today is a special day because not only am I performing at a very powerful community event, I will also be featured on the radio this afternoon to speak about it!

Tonight I will be singing some original tunes at the Vegan Village Cafe as part of "Respect: The Declaration, The Commitment." It will be a forum to address the individual’s role in practicing respect and honor toward women and girls. This event is hosted by Mother's Day Radio (MDR), in partnership with the Women of Color Media Justice Initiative (WCMJI) and Some of Us Are Brave Radio (SOUAB).

Participants in the forum will create a “Declaration for Honoring Womanhood.” This Declaration will be a list of commitment statements that individuals will use to guide their thoughts, words and actions toward women.
