Miami sun, you CANNOT beat it!
Hey world! So my trip to Miami was OFF THE CHAIN. First and foremost, thanks to my boy Marcel for hosting me at his phat apartment in downtown. You are truly living large playa and I'm proud of you, you go BOY. Marcel and his peeps took me to all the best clubs and restaurants in the city, including Wet Willies - a place known for its ability to get you, ahem, tipsy QUICK and CHEAP, just the way I like it! haha! Don't worry ya'll, you know me, I'm a lightweight so I didn't down too much. :)
And of course the trip would not be complete without multiple excursions to the beach. I've come to realize that I am in love with water. I love it. I love the ocean, lakes, rivers, boats, seafood, anything and everything that has to do with the powerful force that it is. I was floating in the warm Miami ocean and I realized that water is a lot like God. It's powerful yet peaceful, and if you relax and flow with it, it will take you where you need to go. You can enjoy its benefits but you must respect its strength.
And if you didn't already know (which most of you do) my birthday was last week so that's why I went to Miami to celebrate a bit. And wow, what a birthday. I thought I would be afraid to get older, but in speaking with my mother, my Izzy (love you Izzy! Izzy is another powerful woman in my life that lives in Miami. And when I say lives, that woman owns her own condo
next to the beach and lives her live like it's GOLDEN! She's my hero!) and a fantastic black woman I met on my way to the airport, I'm feeling quite good and quite empowered about turning 25. The best advice I've heard thus far: "Girl, it only gets better from here...at 30 you are a force...at 40 you are UNSTOPPABLE!" YES! World, here I come.
And to top it off, I just got upgraded to first class! Does life get better than this??? :)
